Dr. Robinson, has provided compassionate, attentive, and individualized relationship medicine on New York's Upper East Side for more that 30 years. It has been, and remains, a privilege to care for so many, including friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Over the years, we have watched the changes in healthcare, insurance collection and reimbursement. We have found that healthcare plans are increasingly overriding our treatment decisions we make on our patients behalf and denying care. We are returning to the Traditional Medical Care Model that puts the doctor-patient relationship first by eliminating the insurance networks. A fee will be paid at the time of service for each visit and/or procedure, rather than paying a co-pay or a deductible.
In addition, we have had to dedicate an ever-increasing number of staff and physician hours to managing insurance networks, increased paperwork, referrals, denials, prior authorizations and contractual requirements. The weight of this bureaucracy forces us to battle with insurance companies over how to provide the best medical care to our patients and to choose daily between spending time with patients or with insurance issues. After much deliberation, we have decided to choose befittingly to put patient care first. We are no longer willing to manage these insurance changes, shorten our patient visits, increase patient volume, compromise patient care, delay care with lengthy prior authorization requirements or risk physician and staff burnout.
No, we are not. There is no yearly membership fee.
Because other insurance(s) are requiring an ever-increasing number of staff and physician hours to managing insurance networks, increased paperwork, referrals, denials, prior authorizations and contractual requirements. The weight of this bureaucracy forces us to battle with insurance companies over how to provide the best medical care to our patients and to choose daily between spending time with patients or with insurance issues. This translates to higher overhead costs, increasing number of appointments per day, longer wait times, shorten our patient visits, increase patient volume, compromise quality care, delay care with lengthy prior authorization requirements or risk physician and staff burnout.
We offer transparent pricing regardless of insurance type or lack thereof. We offer a range of appointments understanding that no one person, disease, or condition fits an exact mold.
If you are unsure of which appointment is right for you, please call us at 1.212.750.7121 so we can better assist you with scheduling. You have a right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much medical care will cost prior to receiving non-emergent care. Compassionate patient care is our highest priority and we make every effort to work with you.
Payment in full will be required at the time of service. Our staff will continue as a courtesy to assist you in submitting your claim(s) electronically on your behalf to expedite your out-of-network benefits. The reimbursement for your visit will be paid directly to you from your insurance company, as Dr. Robinson will be an “out-of-network” provider. We encourage you to review your “out of network" coverage with your insurer prior to scheduling an appointment. At your request, if you would like to submit the visit to your insurance provider yourself please let us know and we will provide you with an itemized bill at the time of service.
Yes, you can still apply medical visit costs towards your FSA, HRS & HSA. Medically necessary procedures along with Tele-medicine can usually be applied. Sun Care Protection may also be covered, as long as the product offers broad-spectrum coverage and an SPF of 15+. It’s best to always check with your benefits provider to learn if a service and/or product you are seeking is covered.
Your lab work, pathology, medications and other referrals will continue to be covered as they have been previously for "in-network" facilities. It is only the Bruce Robinson, MD in-office fees that are "out of network".
